HAU students come from many countries in the East Africa region — Jessica Matabaro, a Civil Engineering graduate, and her friends are from the D. R. Congo.

The Mount Hope regional campus is the latest of HAU’s expansion programs to provide higher education in rural Burundi.

HAU’s library, with over 50,000 volumes, provides study resources that are difficult to find anywhere else in the region.

By 2019, HAU will have graduated over 6,100 students who are now making their mark on the world in their various fields of study.

Dr. John Cropsey’s ophthalmology clinic serves patients from across the region at HAU’s Kibuye Hope Hospital.

HAU's School of Communication has developed and operates Voice of Hope Radio to broadcast Christian music and messages across the country and region.

Dr. Jason Fader practices and teaches at HAU’s Frank Ogden School of Medicine which will have graduated almost 200 physicians by 2019.

Each year some members of Friends of Hope Africa University board of directors visit HAU to maintain close cooperation between the organizations.

The Friends of Hope Africa University officially launched its 24-Years of Hope Campaign in October 2024, and a week-long Jubilee Celebration was held in Burundi in February 2025.
